Movie Review - Kungfu Panda 2

Well, Kungfu Panda 2 had a very successful trailer. From the trailer, you can tell that it is a very funny comedy. When I first saw the trailer, the first thing that came into my mind was I need to be ready for a good laugh. True enough, it was funny. Only the trailer was funny. All the funny scenes in the movie, were already in the trailer. I was actually shock when the movie finished. I was like..."It's that all?" So disappointed!

A few days ago, before I went to watch the movie, I read a review from a local paper that said this year, Dreamworks is going to win the battle against Pixar. I was like "WOW! Kungfu Panda 2 must be really good!" I told Jas about it and she too got excited about the movie. When the movie finished, we couldn't really remember the jokes. All that we can remember was the trailer. That's why I say it is a very successful trailer. Out of the whole movie, the only funny part that was not on the trailer was the part where Po was talking up in the building but nobody could hear him at the bottom. Then suddenly he threw his hat and nobody knew why he did it. That was the only funny part that was not in the trailer.

The plot of the movie was not bad but very typical. A hero and a villain. I personally felt that The Furious Five were neglected in this episode. Only Tigress had slightly more role in the movie. The other 4 were negligible.I don't even see why they were there. Not that they were much help. I felt that they were captured by the bad guys most of the time.

The scripts of the movie were so so. There weren't much jokes in the scripts. Most of it you have to pair it with the action then it's funny. Talking about the scripts, I think Mantis, Monkey, Viper and Crane deserved more things to say in the movie. Out of the four, I think Monkey had the least. I think I heard Jackie Chan voice less then 5 times in the movie.

Anyhow, I must really give credits to the animation. The movie was very beautifully done. The scenery was superb! I love the background so much! All the fighting and action packed scenes were very nicely done. Well done Dreamworks!

I like the idea that towards the end of the movie, there was a hint that there might be Kungfu Panda 3 but the hint was so surface that there might not be Kungfu Panda 3. Well, I love Kungfu Panda. I would love to watch the 3rd expansion of this animation but please keep some jokes. Don't show all of it in the trailer!

Overall rating, 2.5/5. Very beautiful animation but we need more jokes!

Movie Synopsis - Kungfu Panda 2

Movie Review - Kungfu Panda 2
Movie Trailer - Kungfu Panda 2

Long ago, Gongmen City in China were ruled by the peacock clan. Heir of the peacock clan, Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) were told by the court's goat soothsayer (Michelle Yeoh) that a warrior of black and white would one day defeat him. When he heard that, he assumed that she was referring to the giant pandas. Fearing that the prophecy would come true, he decided to exterminate all the pandas in the city. Lord Shen's parents were shock by his action and exiled Lord Shen. He swore that he would come back for revenge.

One day, at Gongmen City, Lord Shen came back with the power of fireworks as a weapon. He plotted to rule the entire country with the power of his fireworks. Master Thundering Rhino (Victor Garber) tried to stop him but Lord Shen had his cannon aiming at him and fired a shot at him, killing him instantly.

After defeating Tai Lung (in Part 1), Po (Jack Black) enjoyed his life and the fame he gained as the Dragon Warrior. He was happily protecting the Valley of Peace alongside the Furious Five until he was told by Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) that he had yet to achieve inner peace.

One day, a pack of wolf bandits came to the valley to steal refined metal for Lord Shen. Po and the Furious Five came to fight off the pack of wolf bandits. However, Po was distracted by a symbol on the head wolf's (Danny McBride) armor, which caused Po to have a flashback of his mother and allowed the wolves to escape. Po  who fel disturbed, confronted his goose father, Mr. Ping (James Hong) to ask about his origins but all Ping could tell him was that he found Po as a baby panda in a radish basket and he decided to adopt him.

Master Shifu received the news that Master Thundering Rhino, leader of the kung fu council protecting Gongmen City, were killed by Lord Shen with his newly developed weapon, a cannon.  Lord Shen intended to destroy kung fu and conquer China. Po and the Furious Five were sent to stop him. When they reached Gongmen City, the whole city was under the control of Lord Shen's forces. They got into the prison and found two imprisoned council members, Masters Storming Ox (Dennis Haysbert) and Croc (Jean-Claude Van Damme). They asked for the help of the two masters to free the city but both masters who witnessed the death of Master Thundering Rhino refused to help them. They claimed that the weapon were too powerful to be defeated. Po and the Furious Five were then discovered by the wolf leader. Soon, they were all captured by Lord Shen's men.

While they were meeting Shen in his tower, Po and the Furious Five freed themselves and destroyed Shen's cannon. However, Po was again distracted by a flashback he Shen's plumage. Lord Shen managed to escape and he destroyed the tower with his weapon, hoping to kill Po and the Furious Five as well but they managed to free themselves from the burning tower.

Later that day, Tigress (Angelina Jolie) confronted Po over his distraction. Po told her that he remembered Shen was there on the night he was separated from his parents. He wanted to ask Shen about his past. Tigress tried to comfort him and stopped him from going to confront Lord Shen.

Despite of Tigree's advice, Po went to Lord Shen's cannon factory to confront Lord Shen. The Furious Five went to save him. Lord Shen said that Po's parents abandoned him before he blasted Po out of the factory with a cannon and he captured the Furious Five. Po was rescued by the goat soothsayer. She helped Po remembered his past.  Guided by the Soothsayer to embrace his past, Po remembered that his parents sacrificed themselves to save him from Lord Shen's forces. His father fought Lord Shen's men bravely while his mother took him and run to the forest. When she knew that Lord Shen were approaching, she hid him in a basket before distracting Lord Shen's men to chase after her. Upon realizing the tragedy he had gone through but still he lived a happy and fulfilling life, Po attained inner peace.

Po returned to Gongmen City to save the Furious Five who was captured by Lord Shen and also to prevent Lord Shen from conquering China. A battle began. Po and the Furious Five fought bravely. Master Storming Ox and Master Croc also participated in the fight after being persuaded by Master Shifu. Po used his inner peace to control a kung fu skill that was able to redirect Shen's cannon ball. He deflected the cannon ball to Lord Shen's armada and destroyed it.

Po then advised Lord Shen to let go of his vengeful past but  Lord Shen refused and attacked Po. Lord Shen accidentally slashed the ropes that was holding his last cannon. The cannon fell and crushed him to death. Once again, Po save the day. Po returned to the Valley of Peace and reunited with Mr. Ping.

At the post credit scene, Po's biological father (Fred Tatasciore) was shown living in a far-off hidden village inhabited by surviving pandas, and he sensed that his son was still alive.

Movie Review - Green Lantern

It had been quite some time since I heard about this movie. At first, the reason why I wanted to watch this movie was because of the hype. You know...super hero movie... always a must to watch. When you hang out with your friends, I think 80% of them would talk about movies like Green Lantern rather than movies like King's Speech or 127 Hours. However, Green Lantern turned out to be quite a good surprise for us!

Green Lantern was actually good. The storyline was very original. Well, actually it was not a very surprising thing for it to be so original because Green Lantern was made long before I was born or maybe long before any of you guys were born. Well when I say original, what I meant was the storyline was very typical but because it had a long history, so most of the ideas in the movie was actually very original back then when Green Lantern was created!

Two childhood friends who fell for the same hot girl. One being a nerd and the other being cool. Naturally, the hottie would date the cool one. The nerd got jealous and always hoping he could be the cool one. So original right? Two good friends who fought for the universe. One being better than the other. The latter one was jealous. Super original right? Seriously! I'm not being sarcastic here. Back in the 1950s, if anyone could come up with a plot like that deserved to be a legend! I'm serious!

The movie wasn't very long as well. It finished at the right time for the audience to digest the whole movie. Explanation was all in the movie. Jas and me particularly loved the front part of the movie where it explained on the origins of Green Lantern Corp. Later, there was also a short explanation about Parallax. We love explanations; it cleared up a lot of our questions. Future movie producers, please take note. Remember to explain! Do not worry about time wasting! We love explanations!

Ryan Reynolds is super hot. Oh man... I think he is way hotter then Chris Hemsworth. Chris Hemsworth is too bulky. Ryan Reynolds is just nice! Oh... I'm so jealous of him. I should really have his posters pasted all over my room wall as an inspiration to go workout! Blake Lively... Pheeeew... I need a fan... She is toooooo hot! With her recent scandals on her leak "photos", that makes her hotter in the movies Well, besides being hot, those two charmers actually did quite a good job in taking up their role. Peter Sarsgaard who played the villain, Hector, was also notably good in his role. I can't say he is hot cos he is not supposed to be hot in his role. Moreover, in 90% of the movie, he was mutated with an incredibly broad forehead.

The scripts were so so. Nothing much to comment about it. The visual effects were good. As we all know this is a fiction comic movie, it was a good idea to keep the visual effects slightly comical and colorful to the viewers.

However, don't you think that it is a little too easy to kill Parallax? I mean... He can mortally wound Abin Sur who was supposedly the best fighter in Green Lantern Corp, so should he be at least slightly more difficult to defeat? The whole movie was basically about Parallax coming to destroy Earth and to kill Hal. Moreover, a newbie like Hal was capable to trick Parallax into following him to the sun? I felt it is a little too easy. Besides that, all other aspects of the movie were good. It was a good super hero movie to watch.

I'll rate it 3/5. A good well explained and entertaining super hero movie!

Movie Synopsis - Green Lantern

Movie Review - Green Lantern
Movie Trailer - Green Lantern

Millions of years ago, long before the Earth was made, a group of beings known as The Guardians of the Universe created an intergalactic police force called the Green Lantern Corps. The Green Lantern Corps were powered by the green essence of willpower that provided them with great powers to protect the universe.  The universe were splitted into 3,600 sectors, with one Green Lantern per sector.

One of The Guardians voted against the rest and insisted that they should used the yellow essence of fear power instead. In order to proof himself to the other Guardians that he can control the yellow essence of fear, he went to confront the fear power and the fear power took control of him. He became Parallax. Abin Sur (Temuera Morrison) of Sector 2814, notably the best Green Lantern, defeated Parallax (voiced by Clancy Brown) and imprisoned him in the Lost Sector (Sector 666) on the ruined planet Ryut. However, in the present day, Parallax killed four Green Lanterns and escaped from his prison. Parallax then traveled to Sector 2814 and wounded Abin Sur. Abin Sur managed to escapes and landed on Earth. The dying Abin Sur commanded his ring to find a worthy successor on the planet Earth.

Meanwhile, Ferris Aircraft test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) was on his way home after a near to death experience during his test flight was picked up by the ring. He was transported to Abin Sur. Abin Sur appointed him as a Green Lantern, his successor to bear his ring. Abin Sur told Hal to take the lantern and say the oath. Soon, Abin Sur passed away and authorities arrived. Hal took the lantern and ran way, leaving Abin Sur's body behind.

When he reached home, he said the oath of the Green Lantern. Just as he finished the oath, Carol Ferris (Blake Lively) came to find him. Not wanting her to see the lantern, he took her out for a drink. When he left the bar, he was attacked by three guys. Out of rage, Hal swung a punch towards one of his attackers. He let out a huge fist of green energy that instantly knocked out all three guys. Shocked over his new obtained ability, before he could react to it, he was transported to the Green Lantern Corps home, Planet of Oa. As soon as he reached Oa, he was transformed into a Green Lantern. He met his trainer, Tomar-Re (voiced by Geoffrey Rush) and Kilowog (voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan). Corps leader Sinestro (Mark Strong), who was not pleased that he is a human which is a primitive race as compared to other species has become a Green Lantern. Moreover, he is bearing the ring of the legendary Abin Sur. Sinestro confronted Hal and criticized him of being unworthy and fearful. Hal announced that he quits and returned to planet Earth. He kept the power ring and the lantern.

Meanwhile, scientist Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard) was summoned to a secret government facility to performs an autopsy on Abin Sur's body. During the autopsy, a small piece of Parallax's fear power energy entered him. Overnight, he was mutated and he earn telepathy and telekinetic powers. Soon, he discovered that it was his father, Senator Robert Hammond (Tim Robbins) that suggested to have him do the autopsy. Hammond attempted to kill his father by crashing his helicopter at a party. However, Hal used his new found ability to save the senator and all the party guests - including his childhood sweetheart,  Carol Ferris. One evening, Hal went to visit Carol in his suit and mask. The moment she saw him, she instantly recognized him as Hal.

The Senator found out about the mutated Hector and tried to help him reversed back the effect but they couldn't hold him down due to his new ability. Hal came to the rescue but Hector was too strong. He burned the Senator alive. Hal who also had the telepathy ability found out from Hector that Parallax was on his way to Earth.

Back in Oa, the Guardians told Sinestro that Parallax was originally one of the Guardians, Krona. After much discussion, they concluded that the only way to fight fear was by fear itself. Sinestro requested the Guardians to forge a ring of yellow power. However, Hal appeared and told Sinestro not to use the yellow ring. He asked the Corps to help him protect his planet from Parallax. They denied his request but Jordan returned home believing that he could protect his home planet.

Upon returning to Earth, Hal saved Carol from Hector. Hector tried to inject her with Parallax's energy but Hal tricked him into taking his ring in exchanged for Carol. He wore the ring but nothing happen. The distracted Hector was defeated by Hal and Hal explained to Hector that only the chosen one will have the powers. Soon, Parallax arrived. Parallax labeled Hector as useless because he failed to kill Hal. Parallax then consumed Hector's life force. Parallax went to town and started his invasion. Hal lured Parallax away from Earth and towards the Sun. Hal used the Sun's gravity to pull and disintegrated Parallax. After the battle, he lost consciousness and was falling into the sun but Sinestro, Kilowog and Tomar-Re came to rescue him. He went back to Planet Oa and the entire Green Lantern Corps congratulated him for his bravery and found him worthy for bearing the ring of Abin Sur.

In the post-credit scene, Sinestro took the yellow ring and puts it on.

Movie Synopsis - The King's Speech

Movie Review - The King's Speech
Movie Trailer - The King's Speech

The film started with Prince Albert, Duke of York (Colin Firth), the second son of King George V, giving a speech at the close of the 1925 British Empire Exhibition at Wembley Stadium. His wife Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) was by his side. His stammering speech echoing in Wembley stadium left the thousands of audience felt unsettled. The duke had several unsuccessful treatments and eventually gave up until his wife met Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush), an Australian speech therapist in London. She managed to persuade the duke to see Lionel Logue.  In their first session, Logue requested that they addressed each other by names so Logue told the duke that he will be calling him Bertie, a name that only his family used. At first, Bertie was reluctant to receive treatment. In order to proof his expertise to the duke, Logue challenged Bertie to read Hamlet's "To be, or not to be" loudly while listening to loud music on headphones. Logue claimed that Bertie will read it perfectly. Bertie took the challenge. Logue recorded Bertie's reading. Bertie being lack in confidence, left without listening to the recordings. He declared himself hopesless. Logue who failed to convince him, gave the record to him.

In 1934, after King George V (Michael Gambon) makes his Christmas address, he explained to Bertie the importance of speech to a king. King George V also declared that Edward, the Prince of Wales also knows as David (Guy Pearce), Bertie's older brother, will be the next in line to be the king. King George V added that David will ruined the family and the country when he takes the throne. He demanded Bertie to train himself to fill in.  He started off with himself practising reading his father's speech. After a frustrating attempt, Bertie played Logue's recording and heard himself making flawless recitation of Shakespeare. He went back to Logue. They work together on muscle relaxation and breath control. Logue slowly probed the psychological reasons of the duke stammering. Soon, Bertie revealed some of the pressures he had during his childhood days. His father is a strict man. The repression for being a natural left-hander. He had a painful treatment with metal splints for his knock-knees. He had a nanny who favoured his elder brother. She constantly pinched him to make him cry and did not feed him enough. It took his parents three years to notice. The early death of his little brother Prince John in 1919 also affected him deeply. Soon, Lionel and Bertie became close friends.

On 20 January 1936, King George V passed away. David acceded the throne as King Edward VIII. He insisted in marrying Wallis Simpson (Eve Best), a divorced American socialite. At a party in Balmoral Castle, Bertie confronted Edward and told him that a king cannot marry a divorced woman. King Edward VIII accused his brother of plotting  to overthrow him off his throne.

At his next session, Logue noticed that when Bertie cursed, he didn't stammer. He asked the duke to say every swear word that came across his mind of. After doing so, Bertie told Logue about David's foolish act with Wallis Simpson. Logue insisted that Bertie could be king. Angry with Logue, Bertie accused Logue of treason and mocked Logue's failed acting career. Their friendship was badly affected.

When King Edward VIII abdicated to marry, Bertie became King George VI. The new king realised that he needs Logue's help. He and the queen visited the Logues' residence to apologise and asked Logue for his assistance. When the king insisted that Logue be seated in the king's box during his coronation in Westminster Abbey, Dr Cosmo Gordon Lang, the Archbishop of Canterbury (Derek Jacobi), questioned Logue's qualifications as a speech therapist. The King confronted Logue, Logue revealed that he started off by treating shell-shocked soldiers in the last war. Halfway through the confrontation, the king began to questioned his own strength, Logue went and sat down on the King's chair and dismissed the Stone of Scone as a trifle. The king was angry with the disrespectful act of Logue but he surprised himself for his sudden fluency, which was intentionally provoked by Logue.

Upon the September 1939 declaration of war with Germany, Bertie summoned Logue to Buckingham Palace to help him for his radio speech to Britain and the Empire. Millions of people listen to their radios as the king delivered his speech.  Logue was there with him to coach him. After the speech, the king and his family stepped onto the balcony of the palace, thousands cheered and applauded to him.

At the end, it was told that Logue was always present during the many speeches King George VI gave during World War II. It also mentioned that in 1944 the King made Logue a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in recognition of Logue's personal service to the Monarch. The final card states that Bertie and Logue remained best friends for the rest of their lives.

Movie Review - Temple Grandin
Movie Trailer - Temple Grandin

The biography film started off with Temple Grandin (Claire Danes) visiting her aunt for the summer and worked on her ranch. Temple was fascinated by a device that hugs the cows to calm them down. One day, while feeling anxious, Temple put herself in the device and it calmed her down immediately.

When Temple first attended college, she was very nervous. Temple felt very anxious the moment she entered her dorm. Knowing her, her mother, Eustacia (Julia Ormond) gave Temple space by closing the door. As she close the door, her mother had a flashback to when Temple was still small and always had tantrums. Temple was diagnosed with classic autism, which she always spaced out, lacking of eye contact, no language, always avoiding human affection and rejecting touch or hugs.

At that time, autism was regarded as a form of schizophrenia. Mothers were blamed as the cause of the disorder. Mothers of autistic children were accused of being cold to their autistic child. They were nicknamed the "refrigerator mothers". The specialist suggested to place Temple in an institution but her mother refused to listen.  She spent her life helping Temple to adapt to the world. Her mother got Temple a speech therapist that helped her to acquire language by doing one to one therapy.

During Temple's college years, she designed a squeze machine for herself. She had a sensory integration dysfunction and disliked physical affection by people. She found out that the machine hugs her to calm her down. She can control the pressure, and it helped her to relax whenever she tensed up.

The school found out about the machine and forced Temple to remove it. The school claimed that it was some kind of sexual machine. The school threw it away. Later, Temple and her aunt came to school to persuade the school to let her use the machine. Temple did a study on the machine and manage to proof that the machine was only a calming device. She was allowed to keep it and she used it for self-calming every now and then.

Later on, the movie flashed back to Temple when she got into Hampshire Country School. She was expelled from her previous high school because she used a book to hit the child that disturbed her. While she was there, she met a supportive teacher, Dr. Carlock. He encouraged her to go further her studies into science in college and eventually became a career.

Temple graduated from college and became a worker at a ranch. She rebuilt a new dip, and altered a slaughterhouse for cows so that it is much more humane. The film ended with Temple and her mother attended an autism fair convention. Temple spoke to the crowd and told the audience on the difficulties she faced and how she overcame it to achieve academically. She also mentioned that her mother helped her with the everyday world. Everyone was so fascinated by her speech. She was invited to speak in front of the auditorium.

Movie Synopsis - Black Swan

Movie Review - Black Swan
Movie Trailer - Black Swan

The movie is about the story of Nina Sayers. Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) was a young talented ballet dancer of a prestigious New York City ballet company. She lived with her neurotic mother, Erica (Barbara Hershey), a former ballet dancer who stopped her career early because she was pregnant with Nina.

The ballet company was preparing for their latest production, The Swan Lake. After the retirement of the present lead dancer, Beth Macintyre (Winona Ryder), the director, Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), had to cast a new lead dancer that will take on the role of Swan Queen. The lead must be able to dance for both the White Swan and Black Swan characters. Both the swans have opposite characteristics. The White Swan being innocent and fragile while the evil twin, Black Swan was vicious and seductive.

On the day of the audition, Nina did badly but she wanted to role so badly. So she visited Thomas just before the result was announced to ask him to reconsider and give her the role. He told her that her dance technique was very suitable for the White Swan but she lacked the skill to take on the role of the Black Swan. He then forced a kiss on her and she bit him on the lips. Later when the result was out, she was chosen as the Swan Queen. On the night where Nina was publicly introduced as the new Swan Quenn, the angry Beth confronted Thomas and Nina. When she stormed out of the hall, she was hit by a car and got seriously injured.

Since getting the role, Nina started to witness strange happenings around her. Thomas, meanwhile, becomes increasingly demanding on Nina's dancing technique as the Black Swan. He told her to simply lose herself in the role. Nina was later compared to another dancer, Lily (Mila Kunis), whom Thomas described as having the qualities that Nina lacks. One night, Lily appeared at Nina's door and invited her for a night out. Nina was hesitating at first but after much persuasion, she decided to join Lily even though her mom didn't allowed her to do so. While out, Lily offered Nina a capsule of Ecstasy. When she returned home, Nina fought with her mother. She locked herself in her room and made love to Lily. The next morning, Nina woke up alone and were late for her rehearsal. When she arrived, she saw Lily dancing the role of the Swan Queen. she confronted Lily and accused her for not waking her up because she wanted to take the role away from her. Lily was puzzled by Nina's statement. Lily told Nina that she spent the night with a man whom she met at the club. Lily then realised that she fantasized the whole part about having sex with Lily.

Nina's hallucinations worsen during the rehearsals and at home. She had a violent fight with her mom injured her mom. Her mom became very worried about her. She felt that Nina recent success in getting the Swan Queen role was giving Nina too much stress. Her mother then tried to prevent her from attending the opening performance. Nina forced her way through and got there in time for the opening dance.

The first act went well until Nina was distracted by her own hallucination. As she returned to her dressing room, she found Lily dressed as the Black Swan. Lily then admitted to Nina that she her wants to play the Black Swan. Lily then transformed into Nina. Nina then attacked "Nina" and pushed into the mirror shattering it. She grabbed a piece of the glass and stabbed "Nina" in the stomach. Nina then realise that she killed Lily. She hid the body and returned to the stage. She danced the Black Swan role passionately. She then lost herself and transformed into a black swan. At the end of the act, the crowd gave her a standing ovation. When she leaved the stage, Thomas and the rest of the cast congratulated her on her stunning performance.

While she was in her dressing room preparing for the final act, Lily came to congratulate her on her performance as the Black Swan. Nina was shocked. She looked at the shattered mirror then she noticed a wound on her body. She then realized that she actually stabbed herself. She went back on stage and danced passionately as the White Swan. The movie started with 20-year-old Babydoll (Emily Browning), was sent to the Lennox House for the Mentally Insane in Brattleboro, Vermont by her abusive stepfather (Gerard Plunkett) after she was accused of causing the death of her younger sister. Blue Jones (Oscar Isaac), one of the asylum guard, was bribed by Babydoll's stepfather to forge the asylum's psychiatrist, Dr. Vera Gorski (Carla Gugino) signature to have Babydoll lobotomized.

When she enter the institution, Babydoll entered a fantasy world in which she was a virgin newly arrived in a brothel owned by Blue, a mobster. She befriended four other dancers — Amber (Jamie Chung), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), Rocket (Jena Malone), and Rocket's older sister, Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish). Dr. Gorski was the girls' dance instructor, Madam Gorski. Madam Gorski informed Babydoll that she would be sold to a client known as "The High Roller" (Jon Hamm).

One day, Madam Gorski forced Babydoll to perform an erotic dance. While dancing, Babydoll fantasized that she was in feudal Japan, meeting the Wise Man (Scott Glenn) in a temple. After expressing her desire to "escape", the Wise Man gave Babydoll weapons. He told her that she would need to collect five items to escape: a map, fire, a knife, a key, and an unrevealed fifth item that required "great sacrifice". As she left the temple, she was confronted by three demonic giant samurai, which she defeated them. As her fantasy ended, she was back in the brothel and her dance impressed Blue.

Inspired by the Wise Man, Babydoll convinced her friends to join her in her escape plan. She plotted to use her dances as a distraction whilst her friends get the necessary items. During each of her dances, she imagined adventurous events including entering a bunker protected by steam-powered World War I German soldiers to get the map (while Sweet Pea entered Blue's office and to copy the map of the brothel); getting into an orc castle to slay a baby dragon to get two fire-producing crystals (while Amber stole a lighter from the pocket of a client) and boarded a train and fighting mechanized guards to disarm a bomb (while Sweet Pea stole the kitchen knife from the belt of the brothel's cook). During the last effort to get the knife, Rocket sacrificed herself to save Sweet Pea and was killed when the bomb detonated (which was deadly fight between the cook and the other girls in the brothel).

Blue suspected that the girls were up to something. He overheard Blondie telling Babydoll's plan to Madam Gorski. After discovering the Rocket was killed in the kitchen by the cook, he locked Sweet Pea in a utility closet and confronted the other girls backstage. He shot Amber and Blondie during the confrontation. Then he attempted to rape Babydoll but she stabbed him with the kitchen knife and stole his master key. Babydoll went to the utility closet and freed Sweet Pea. They started a fire to trigger the fire alarm so that the institution's doors will be unlocked. They managed to escape to the courtyard, where they find the front gate was blocked by a few men. Babydoll then realised that the fifth item needed for the escape is herself. Despite Sweet Pea's protest, Babydoll sacrificed herself to distract the guards while Sweet Pea to slip away.

The movie then went back to the asylum in which the surgeon (Hamm) just lobotomized Babydoll. The surgeon was disturbed by Babydoll's final expression and started to question Dr. Gorski on why she authorized the procedure. Dr. Gorski then realized that Blue had forged her signature. She called for the police and Blue was apprehended while trying to attack Babydoll.

Meanwhile, Sweet Pea managed to escape to the bus station where she was stopped by policemen. The bus driver rescued her by misleading the police. The bus driver was the Wise Man from Babydoll's fantasies. He told Sweet Pea to take a seat in the back of the bus, and that she had a long way to go.

Movie Synopsis - Source Code

The movie starts off with Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal), an army helicopter pilot who was in  a mission to locate the maker of a bomb which exploded and destroyed a train heading into Chicago. Stevens was trapped inside a chamber, where Air Force Captain Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga) told that he is inside the Source Code.

Source Code is a program that allowed him to take over someone's body in his or her last eight minutes of life. In the chamber, Captain Colter Stevens can only communicate with Goodwin through a computer screen. During the mission, for each time he failed to locate the bomb, the bomb will detonate, he will have to go back to the chamber and restart his mission. Goodwin and the Source Code's creator, Dr. Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright), tell him that the Source Code is not a simulation, but he was sent back to the last 8 mins of a person's life so that he could stop the bombing from happening. Stevens can perform different actions each time in order to locate the bomb but he was told that he can't change history or to save any of the passengers because the passengers were already dead.

Every time he was sent into the train, he waked up as Sean Fentress, a teacher, sitting across from a woman named Christina Warren (Michelle Monaghan). He tried to explain to Christina that he is not Sean Fentress but she finds it too bizarre to believe.

After being sent back as Sean Fentress for several time, he managed to locate the bomb in the ventilation shaft above the bathroom. Each time he learns more and also slowly, he found himself falling for Christina. At the same time, Stevens couldn't remember how he got into the mission but eventually with the help of Christina, he discovered that he died in the war two months ago.

He also found out that the bomber is Derek Frost (Michael Arden). He followed Frost to a white van where the bomb was hidden. When he confronted Frost, Frost shot him and also Christina but he was able to gather enough info to inform Goodwin and Rutledge that Frost is the bomber. The authorities were able to capture Frost and save Chicago before the second bomb detonate.

With the mission accomplished, Rutledge wanted to erase Stevens memory and keep him in the chamber for further missions in future. But Stevens managed to persuade Goodwin to send him back one last time because he believed that he can stop the train disaster from happening. Goodwin agreed that he should be allowed to fulfil his last request and died in peace.

After Goodwin sent Stevens back, she went to the chamber and she saw Stevens' severely injured body. She waited for 8 minutes before she unplugging him from Source Code. With the information he managed to gather from his previous visits into the Source Code, Stevens was able to defuse the bomb and apprehended Frost before he can detonate the bomb and destroyed the train. Frost is arrested and the people on the train are saved. Stevens and Christina kissed in the last seconds before Goodwin pull the plug at the eight-minute mark.

As Stevens requested, Goodwin turned off his life support but to Stevens' surprise, his mind remained in Sean Fentress' body. He safely left the train with Christina and the rest of the passengers. He sent an email to Goodwin, telling her how the bomb was defuse and how Source Code worked by connecting two realities.

While Chixia was in Laolao, he concentrated all his powers and took out the Only Weapon, which was all this time inside Xiaoqian's head. As the Only Weapon came out from Xiaoqian, all her memories between Chixia and her came into the picture. After Thor found out about Mjolnir's location, he went to the site to retrieve his hammer but he was unable to lift it. He was captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. With Selvig's help, he was freed and decided to stay in Earth as he developed a romance with Jane.

However in Asgard, Loki discovered that he is Laufey's son, adopted by Odin after the war ended. He confronted Odin and forced him to fall into the deep "Odinsleep" that allows him to recuperate. Loki took the throne. He offered Laufey the chance to kill Odin and retrieved the Casket.

Unhappy with Loki's actions, Sif and the Warriors three convinced Heimdall (Idris Elba), gatekeeper of the Bifröst Bridge to allow them passage to Earth so that they could return Thor from exile. After Loki found out about their plan, Loki sent the Destroyer, an indestructible-robot-looking figure to kill Thor and his friends. Sif and the Warriors Three found Thor.

Soon after they found Thor, the Destroyer arrived and started a massacre in the small town. They fought the Destroyer but the Destroyer was invulnerable. Thor offerred himself to the Destroyer and asked the Destroyer to spare his friends. The Destroyer struck Thor. Thor's near death sacrifice proved him worthy to wield Mjolnir again. The hammer returned itself to him, restoring his powers and allowing him to defeat the Destroyer. He and his fellow warriors decided to travel back to Asgard to confront Loki.

Before he left, he kissed Jane goodbye and promised her that he will be back. In Asgard, Loki betrayed Laufey and killed him. He planned that assassination of Odin so that he could kill Laufey to prove himself worthy to Odin. Loki then planned to destroy Jotunheim using the Bifröst Bridge. Thor arrived and fought his brother just in time as Loki was about to destroy Jotunheim. In order to stop the Bifröst Bridge from destroying Jotunheim, Thor had to destroy the Bifröst Bridge. Odin woke up and prevented the brothers from falling off the destroyed bridge. However, Loki let go of his grip to fall to his apparent death after realizing that he disappointed Odin again. Feeling mournful towards the death of his brother, Thor admitted to Odin that he is not ready to be king. While on Earth, Jane and her research team continued their search for the portal to Asgard so that she can reunite with Thor.

After the credits, there was a scene where Selvig were taken to a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility. There, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) asked him to study an unnamed device, which Fury says may hold untold power. Loki, invisible, whispered to Selvig to agree, which Selvig did.
